Samoan Cultural Celebration and Summer Concerts Heat Up Weekend Events

You made it to the weekend, now what? Patch found weekend events happening July 5-7.

Fireworks maybe over but that doesn’t mean the fun has to end.

Dance the night away in Carlsbad, experience Samoan culture in Oceanside or listen to music by the sea in Encinitas.

TGIF JAZZ IN THE PARKS
  • What's Up: Bring your dancing shoes to the 28th annual concert series featuring the swing band, The High Street Band. 
  • When: 6 p.m. on Friday, July 5. 
  • Where: Stagecoach Park, 3420 Camino de los Coches, Carlsbad.
  • Price: Free. 
SAMOAN CULTURAL CELEBRATION AND OUTREACH
  • What's Up: Oceanside Samoan Cultural Committee will host the annual Samoan Festival. The two-day event will feature arts, crafts, live entertainment, dance performances and more. 
  • When: 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7. 
  • Where: Junior Seau Pier Amphitheatre, 200 North Strand, Oceanside.
  • Price: Free. 
FIRST SUNDAY MUSIC SERIES
  • What's Up: First Sunday Music Series will feature the Gypsy jazz group, Hot Club Combo. Concert will include original music, Gypsy Jazz repertoire and more. 
  • When: 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 7. 
  • Where: Encinitas Library, 540 Cornish Dr., Encinitas
  • Price: Free.
SUMMER SUNDAY CONCERTS BY THE SEA
  • What's Up: City of Encinitas Summer Sunday Concerts by the Sea Series will host the 80s band BetaMaxx.
  • When: 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 7.

  • Price: Free. 
HERITAGE PARK SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
  • What's Up: Sundays at Heritage Park Concert Series will feature contemporary band, Mo & The Other Guys.
