Señor Grubby’s will hold our 2nd Annual Community Christmas Party to Benefit ‘Got Your Back San Diego’, taking place on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 6-10pm, and featuring raffles, silent auctions, giveaways, and much more to raise money & awareness for ‘Got Your Back San Diego’.  The location address is 377 Carlsbad Village Drive, Carlsbad 92008. Event website: www.eatgrubbys.com

The event is free & open to the public, all ages are welcome. We invite families to come in & take a photo with Santa Claus! Santa will be making his appearance at our party, and encourages all guests to bring an item to donate to the ‘Got Your Back’ food & backpack bins. Some raffle items include Canvas on Demand, K1 Raceway, Harbor Cruise or Whale Watching, San Diego Symphony, Aquarium of the Pacific, and so much more. Last year’s turnout was very successful in raising money, collecting food items and backpacks, and informing the community of ‘Got Your Back San Diego’ & their purpose in serving North County youth.

A portion of the party will be held in the parking lot, featuring booths from local businesses offering up goods and services. All proceeds from the raffle & silent auction will be donated to ‘Got Your Back San Diego’. We will be collecting food items such as boxes of cereal, shelf-stable milk, canned vegetables, granola bars, peanut butter, jelly, etc. Backpacks are also appreciated, as they are filled at the end of the school week and passed on to children who qualify as homeless under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.

“Thanks for the years of support and believing in what we do. Together we can build a stronger community.” – Justin Jachura, Señor Grubby’s President & Co-Founder.

"Community" CHRISTMAS party?? I don't think you know the meaning of the word community. Yes we are a pretty homogeneous town, but through the title you have effectively told anyone who is not Christian they are not welcome at your event. We will not be eating a Senor Grubbys again.

Christine, get a life! These folks are trying to do something nice for the less fortunate in our community. BYW, I don't think Senor Grubbys will go out of business if you don't eat there again. You sound like a lousy tipper anyway.

Very immature post Andy. I have quite a full life, and how does one "sound" like a bad tipper? (ps they don't have servers at Grubby's)

Christine, I am sorry you feel this way. We never intended to ostracize anyone, in fact our hopes are that everyone come and be a part of this event. We are holding a party that will yield food & money for a local organization that does so much good in our community, and others in the North County area. I hope you can see where we are coming from, and would always love for you to be a patron of ours. We give back to so many different organizations through our fundraising efforts, and are always looking to build a stronger community.

Darby, you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time. Anyway, you didn't tell anyone that they are not welcome simply by mentioning Christmas in your title.

To Jewish or Muslim person that is exactly what you are telling them. I'm sure this was not the intent, but "food for though" in the future. Peace.
