FanFaire Foundation continues its celebration of National
Arts Month and the second anniversary of its KIDS Playing For KIDS program on
Friday, October 11, 2013 from 4 to 6 PM at the Point Loma Credit Union Carlsbad
Branch Lobby. The unique event juxtaposes live musical keyboard, violin, cello,
and guitar performances by several members of KIDS Playing For KIDS with
on-site mural painting. Among the program’s highly gifted young musicians whose ages range from 9 to 14 are Michael Chen, Claire Lewis Anne Liu, Paul Maxwell, Kate
Ng, and Julia Reiners who will play classical and popular pieces.
The Art Miles Mural Project will provide the materials for
the on-site mural painting, including two 5 x 6 canvases, one each for children
and adults attending the event who are welcome to paint images that together
must build on the theme of promoting peace and unity among peoples through art
and music.
Both FanFaire Foundation--where science and music intersect
and the Art Miles Mural Project are San Diego County-based 501 (c)(3) nonprofit
organizations.
