Benefit Concert for Leukemia Patient

Yoga Munkey studio in Vista (North County San Diego) is hosting a benefit
concert and art show at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2014, as a fundraiser and
community event benefiting leukemia patient Heidi Hall.  Heidi finds herself
in great need of financial help to fund a bone marrow transplant, which
is only partially covered by her insurance. The concert will feature Streetlight
Cadence
, an eclectic international
musical group from Hawaii whose original vocals are harmonious and lively. Conceived
on the streets of Waikiki, Streetlight Cadence is an energetic, creative mix of
musicians including a cellist, violinist, guitarist and an accordion player who
plays percussion with his feet. Their soulful sound includes Cajun and many
other influences that will make dancing difficult to resist!

As well as providing an enjoyable
evening of music and fellowship, Yoga Munkey will have Heidi’s art for sale to
raise funds for a mid-January bone marrow transplant. After living life as a
cloistered nun for 30 years, Heidi was diagnosed
with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2010. After three years of intensive
treatments including chemotherapy, radiation to her spine and brain and various
alternative therapies, she is at a place her doctors never expected her to be:
cancer free, but not cured. The only potential cure for this often terminal
disease is a bone marrow transplant.

Surviving
leukemia for 3 years is a testament to Heidi's indomitable spirit.  She is a creative force, using her love of
life and spirit to paint uplifting art (www.artisansoflight.com). Her life as a religious nun didn't allow
her to earn and save, and due to extreme fatigue and chronic pain, she is not
able to work outside of her occasional bursts of inspiration for her beautiful
artwork.
