Event: 5th Consecutive Year for 'My Funny Valentines' in Carlsbad

For the fifth consecutive year, the Carlsbad Village Theatre will be THE destination for lovers and the like as they celebrate Valentine’s Day.  My Funny Valentines, the popular relationship themed stand-up comedy show returns. The show which bills itself as having “3 comedians with zero relationship expertise” has been giving people an excellent option for a way to spend the day that honors love. The show stars award-winning comedian, former long time San Diego resident and San Diego State alumni; Lamont Ferguson.  Ferguson, who began his career in San Diego at the World Famous Comedy Store is a very familiar face to the San Diego comedy scene as well as comedy fans in general. He’s appeared on Comedy Central, Comics Unleashed and the ABC Family Channel.  In addition to being a winner of the prestigious Seattle Comedy Festival (2nd longest running Festival in the US), he’s also the only comedian working today that has been hand selected to be the opening act for each of the following comedy legends: Bill Cosby, Steve Harvey, George Lopez, Garry Shandling  and the late, great George Carlin.

Also performing on the show will be Ro DelleGrazie. The newly transplanted New Yorker brings her “tell it like it is” style to the stand-up stage.  DelleGrazie career began in 1999 and has been featured on the Oxygen Network and was the opening act for “Comedy’s Loveable Queen of Mean” herself, Lisa Lampanelli.  Ro’s style has been described as honest and outrageous as she shares stories of her crazy love life, dysfunctional family and the way she sees the world.

The evening will be hosted by a former San Diego native, comedian Mark Fernandez. Fernandez who also began his career in San Diego now makes his home in Los Angeles.
