The Jewish Federation of San Diego County and the Leichtag Family Foundation are co-sponsoring a lecture series called Scholar Lectures on Jewish Studies.

Head to the City of Carlsbad Dove Library to attend the free lecture series.

  • Oct 22: The Upcoming Elections: What's at Stake presented by UCSD Professor Sanford Lakoff.

  • Nov. 19: The View from Tehran: How Iran's History Shapes its Foreign Policy by Professor Ibrahim Al-Marashi, CSUSM.

  • Dec. 17: George Gershwin, a Jewish Composer Who Crossed the Ethnic Divide by UCSD Professor Steven Cassedy.

  • Jan. 14: American Jews & the Civil War by Dr. Joellyn Zollman

  • March 11: The History of Israel in 10 Objects by SDSU Professor Risa Levitt Kohn. 

  • April 22: The Temple Mount in Jerusalem: History, Archaeology, & Contemporary Politics by Professor Aren Maeir from Bar Ilan University in Israel.
