“Common Tread: Traversing the American Landscape” celebrates
the investigative spirit rooted in American culture and the joyous vitality of traveling by car. It features the work of fifteen contemporary artists who employ themes of location and memory to produce an experiential evaluation of American road travel through photography, blown glass, acrylic, pigment on rag paper, oil, sculpture, car parts, and watercolor. Artists featured include: Jo Babcock, Jason Chakravarty, Melissa Chandon, John Divola, James Gucwa, S.A. Hawkins, Olga Koumoundouros, Jason Kowalski, James Lorigan, Robert Olsen, Rob Reynolds, Dustin Shuler, Kevin Stewart-Magee, Robert Townsend and Andy Warhol.

Cannon Gallery and Family Open Studios are programs of the City of Carlsbad’s Cultural Arts Office.
