Jazz Appreciation Month: Peter Sprague

Peter Sprague celebrates the release of his new album "Ocean in Your Eyes" at the Museum of Making Music.

On April 18, 2014 at 7 PM, the Museum of Making Music welcomes local icon and guitarist Peter Sprague as he celebrates the release of "Ocean in Your Eyes," a new album featuring vocals by Leonard Patton, Kevyn Lettau, Lisa Hightower and Matt Falker along with Gunnar Biggs on bass, Duncan Moore on drums, and Peter on guitar.

The musical direction is a collection of Peter's compositions set in the jazz, Brazilian, and blues vein.

This event is presented in conjunction with Jazz Appreciation Month, the Smithsonian National Museum of American History annual monthly commemoration of jazz as an original American art form.

Since 2001, Jazz Appreciation Month has paid tribute to jazz as both a living and as a historic music. Schools, organizations, and other institutions celebrate JAM with events ranging from concerts to educational programs.
