Community Corner

Pancake breakfast fundraiser for former CHS cheerleader, March 23

A
community pancake breakfast will be held at Calavera Hills Community Park on
Sunday, March 23 from 8 to 11 a.m. The proceeds of this fundraiser will go to
the Rebecca Edgin Memorial Fund. Rebecca was a Carlsbad High School cheerleader
who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the young age of 14.
Rebecca was a fighter but lost her battle last year,  just weeks before her 16th birthday. Friends
and family of Rebecca would like to use the funds to purchase a memorial bench
in her honor to be placed in one of the City of Carlsbad's local parks to
commemorate Rebecca’s life and to provide a place for her family and friends to
mourn.

The pancake breakfast will also feature a silent auction with many great items up for bid, including gift cards and tickets to local
attractions. Tickets for the breakfast are just $6. For more information or to
make a donation please visit https://www.facebook.com/rebeccaedginmemorial.
