Meet the Amazing Etch-A-Sketch Man and Art Making at Family Open Studios Plus

Time-travel to a Saturday straight out of 1960 at this unforgettable Family Open Studios Plus. Christoph Brown, aka the Amazing Etch Man, is not only the world's fastest etcher - he also sings and plays music while creating dazzling art on etch-a-sketch toys spread across the stage. His performance also includes big screen video projections and a live band.

Performances take place at 11:45 and again at 1:15. Free.

And join us for a free, hands-on art-making workshop designed for the whole family in conjunction with the exhibition "Our Lives, Our Stories," which explores the life arc of a single generation who were shaped by their experiences during the Depression, WWII, the economic boom of the postwar era, and the burgeoning Civil Rights era. The exhibition includes memories and oral histories, and a range of domestic and cultural objects, from toys and TV and radio artifacts to military items and uniforms, along with 45 historic photographs on loan from the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA) in Balboa Park.

Sponsored by the City of Carlsbad's Cultural Arts Office.
