Hot, swinging, bopping, smooth or fused, we love local jazz! This is Jazz is a program that lets audiences join in on great conversations and live performances by Southern California's finest musicians. Listen to jazz, learn about jazz and talk about jazz: part performance, and part conversation, each session lets the audience head backstage to take five in the green room with San Diego's top performers and sit in on some irresistible music.

San Diego's most passionate jazz advocate, trumpet virtuoso Gilbert Castellanos won San Diego Music Award's 2013 Best Artist and has toured the world with the leading lights of jazz. Pianist Joshua White took second place at the 2011 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition in piano, an instrument only selected for the competition once a decade. Together, Castellanos and White have made the San Diego jazz scene the envy of cities all over the west.
