The Optimist Club of Carlsbad will be hosting its 22nd annual Super Bowl-a-Thon fundraiser on Sunday, February 2, 2014. The event will begin at 9:00 am and will conclude at around 12:00 noon. The Bowl-a-Thon will take place at the Vista Entertainment Center, located at 435 West Vista Way in Vista.
Admission to the Bowl-a-Thon is $20 per person, which includes three games of bowling, shoe rental, and unlimited doughnuts, bagels, coffee, and orange juice. All participants will be eligible for door prizes that will be awarded during the event. There will also be a raffle for cash and other prizes. The Bowl-a-Thon is a “family friendly” event, and children are more than welcome to attend.
People who are unable to attend the Bowl-a-Thon can still support the event by sponsoring a Camp Pendleton-based Marine or a family member of a Marine to bowl. For the past several years, the Optimist Club has coordinated with various organizations to bring several local Marines and their families to the event so that they can enjoy the event at no charge.

Those interested in participating in the Bowl-a-Thon are strongly encouraged to contact the Optimist Club in advance at optimistclubofcarlsbad@gmail.com to reserve a lane. Walk-ins are welcome as space permits. Those interested in sponsoring a Marine or a Marine’s family member can contact the Optimist Club at the same address.
