Charity Bike Riders Push MS Rider to the Finish Line

While participating in the Bike MS Bay to Bay Tour, Team Shoebacca came across "Mary" who suffers from MS and could no longer pedal the last 3 miles to the finish line in Carlsbad.

Meet "Mary" in the middle. Members of Team SHOEBACCA came up on her 3 miles away from the finish line walking, because her legs were too cramped to push on the pedals any longer. She suffers from MS but was determined to finish no matter how long it took. The Bike MS Bay to Bay's finish line on this day was at the Sheraton in Carlsbad, and included going up a big hill.

"She was not going to have to walk to the finish on our watch, I only wish we had come up on her sooner. Saturday she rode 50 miles for herself, we were fortunate to be a part of her day," said Dee Folse, captain of Team SHOEBACCA.

Arm in arm, they helped "Mary" cross the finish line.

Team SHOEBACCA rode 150 miles and raised $38,500.00 for MS with more donations still being counted. This is the team's fifth year doing the MS Bay to Bay Tour.
