Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Hosts Fourth Annual Business is Green! Expo

The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce will host the fourth annual Business is Green! Expo on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at the Carlsbad by the Sea Resort & Conference Center, formerly known as “The Windmill,” on 850-890 Palomar Airport Road, Carlsbad, CA 92011. The cost of admission is $5 at the door (cash only).

The event will feature 35 exhibitors and a green car show that includes an all-electric Prius, converted by the California Center for Sustainable Energy, vehicles from San Diego Gas & Electric as well all-electric cars from Coda and Fisker automotive.

New this year is a panel about the Equinox Center’s 2011 Dashboard, a report that looks to balance growth and sustainability in the San Diego region. Ann Tartre, the center’s executive director, will start the conversation, which will focus on waste, transportation and the cost of living – issues the report identifies as the most crucial facing the region. The goal of the panel is to encourage dialogue and identify possible solutions. Panelists include: Susan Tinksky of the San Diego Housing Federation, Elyse Lowe of Move San Diego and JBC Groups LLC President Jacy Bolden. The panel will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission to the expo is free upon attending the panel.
