Optimist Club of Carlsbad Helps Valley Middle School Band go to Disneyland
A $500 donation to the band and orchestra will help cover costs of a trip to Disneyland to participate in a music workshop and a recording session at the Disney studios.
The Optimist Club of Carlsbad recently donated $500 to the Band and Orchestra programs at Carlsbad’s Valley Middle School. The money was donated to help subsidize the Band and Orchestra’s November 13, 2013 field trip to Disneyland to participate in a workshop about the role of music in film. The students will also participate in a recording session at the Disney studios.
Founded in 1956, the Optimist Club of Carlsbad is one of the oldest community service groups in Carlsbad. The Club is dedicated to being a “friend of youth” and to “bringing out the best in kids” in our community by participating in community service projects as well as by donating funds to individual children, school groups, and non-profit organizations dedicated to helping youth.
