Food Pushers

Losing weight is one of the hardest things that people do in their lives. Take Oprah for example. She’s one of the most accomplished people in the world and she has admittedly struggled with her weight for years and years.

Our world is filled with one weight loss temptation after another and the LAST thing you need is someone trying to get you off the healthy track. I call these shister people “food pushers” and they can make weight loss damn near impossible!

Before I talk smack about food pushers, it’s important to note that not all food pushers are created equal.

Sure, some are just plain old trying to get you to stop losing weight – maybe an overweight, jealous friend or a spurned coworker (who else is gonna raid the vending machine with her?).

Sometimes it’s even a hurt husband or boyfriend who feels threatened by your new healthy lifestyle. He’s probably wondering, “will I still fit into her life when she’s looking and feeling fierce?”

These kind of food pushers’ actions are based purely on their own guilt or insecurities about their body or how their relationship with you might change. It’s about them – not you.

But, yes, very often your relationships will change – sometimes for the better and other times for the worse. That’s just what happens.

If you want a healthy, slim body you  have to make some changes to your lifestyle. Happy hours and late night binges might be exchanged for making salads together or walks with the dogs. And some people in your life won’t embrace these kind of healthy changes.

Other food pushers mean well, but they’re not helpful either. Their kind of food pushing usually comes out of love or concern about your health and well-being. Moms and grandmothers can be typical culprits. These ladies tend to show love with sugary snacks – it’s just what they do.
