Why Should You Be Blogging?

Technology is moving so fast it's extremely difficult to stay up to date on everything. Just the other day I saw an article that said the average person spends 2.7 hours a day on their mobile device. If your website isn't setup for mobile that is something you should look into as well.

• Writing new blog posts allows people get to know your company, you, humanizes your business, and creates a voice (just like social media).
• When you write about your industry and related categories the goal would be to become an authority figure. Just about ANYONE can write about what they are doing. I write about social media, business, online marketing, etc because that’s the industry I am in.
• This is education/content based marketing. Now you providing useful content and educating your potential clients and friends. Now or later down the line they will think of you first when they need the service/product you have to offer.
• If you blog twice a week you will add 104 pages to your website in one year. The majority of websites out there are under 20 pages.
• Your blog titles and content appear on search engines to create organic search.
• There are still useful blog posts from 4 years ago. This means spending some time and making sure it’s a good blog post can bring you leads in for years.

• Of course there's an increase in traffic to your site, builds awareness, and branding.

There was a question online about the future for blogging. The topic being will blogs be outdated and everything will be on social media (such as micro blogging on twitter).
