She graduated from San Dieguito Academy high school in Encinitas and owned a furniture importing company.
Her body was found in a remote area of San Diego County Friday night. According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, Scharbarth died of strangulation.
Her ex-boyfriend Michael David Robles, 43, of Fallbrook remains in custody on suspicion of kidnapping and murder. Scharbarth filed a restraining order against Robles Nov. 17. An arraignment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Scharbarth's family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a trust fund set up for the victim's daughter at California Bank and Trust. Donations will be used to pay for Madison's education and living expenses.
