John Grant Lowe Dies at 91; Former Sears Executive Who Lived in Carlsbad

Dedicated Rotarian and Boy Scouts director moved to La Costa Glen with wife Linda in 2008.

John Grant Lowe—a former Sears manager and executive in Los Angeles who retired to La Costa Glen in 2008—died March 12 in Encinitas, according to an obituary in the North County Times.

He was 91.

Lowe began a 42-year career with Sears Roebuck & Co. in 1937, said his obituary.

“He was general manager of stores in the Los Angeles-Orange County area from 1962 until his election as territorial vice president in 1967,” the obituary said. “He served as executive vice president and director of Sears until his retirement in 1979.”

He and his wife, Linda, relocating to La Costa Glen in Carlsbad in 2008, and was a dedicated Rotarian.

Services were planned at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale.
