Bribing Yourself to Reach Weight Loss Goals

Can rewarding yourself help you reach your health goals faster?

I just completed week two on my Nutrisystem diet and I'm down 2.5 pounds. I feel a little slimmer and my mother said my waist looks smaller. I'm on track losing one to two pounds a week. It's nice to see the scale maintain a number in the 140's, but I'd like that number to be 145 not 149.

Even before starting this diet, I'd promised myself when I hit 145 pounds I'd buy a workout outfit from Lululemon in the Carlsbad Forum as a reward, or really, a bribe. I've noticed many of the women who workout with me at in Carlsbad wear the brand and many of my friend's swear it's the most comfortable and flattering workout wear. For $98 for workout pants, it better be.

If I reach my ultimate goal of losing 10 to 15 pounds I've been promised a dinner at Rei do Gado in downtown San Diego. It's the best Brazilian Steakhouse I've ever been to. That reward comes from my boyfriend who has doubts I can stay on this diet.

So, there are two bribes/rewards on the table. I also have a cruise booked the end of October and that is motivation to get in awesome shape. If I maintain the pound-a-week weight loss, I'll be at 145 by the time of the cruise and might just have a cute newly purchased workout outfit to wear on that cruise.

'...MPH degree program to attend a 3-day workshop ... challenge the CNA licensure examination inRead More California.... ... Aristotle felt that by becoming licensed professionals in the U.S. shortly after their arrival to the shores of the U.S., they would have a greater opportunity to receive better clinical positions when they applied for the work-study internships that they were eligible to participate in....' the school told students that were enrolled in masters' degrees that certification as a cna was part of the road to obtaining a masters degree ?? stop right there... masters in public health is an administrative position that has nothing to do with being a cna....and i'm sure people didn't travel thousands of miles to do the grunt work in a hospital.... yea, getting a cna license is a great suggestion for an 18 year old that's going into the nursing field....but not for someone in the masters' program.... and fyi phony college.....in this country a person has to have a 4 year degree before they can apply for the masters' program....
