Parents Name Baby 'Hashtag' after Twitter's Popular Symbol
The parents of the baby girl announced her arrival into the world on Facebook Saturday night.

Hashtags are used on Twitter as a way to search for subjects and create trends. Now "Hashtag" is also the name on a birth certificate of a little girl, according to several news outlets including Mashable.com: mashable.com/2012/11/27/parents-name-baby-hashtag/

This isn't the first social media name. TechCrunch reported Feb. 19, 2011 that an Egyptian father named his daughter "facebook."
