Poll: Will New Mars Rover Find Evidence of Life on the Red Planet?

After “seven minutes of terror” before landing, NASA’s latest probe has chance to make history.

An 8½-month journey to Mars ends Sunday when NASA’s 2,000-pound Curiosity rover attempts to slow down safely and “stick the landing.” Scientists have labeled the final maneuvers—to be documented by a San Diego-made camera—“seven minutes of terror.” But fear would yield to wild cheers if the mission finds evidence of life-supporting chemicals and possibly life itself. Will this visit find martians?
