SAN DIEGO SOLAR PROGRAM NOW OFFERS SOLAR FINANCING OPTIONS THROUGH PROPERTY TAXES

Starting February 10th, residents living in select cities across San Diego are able to participate in a new government solar financing program. Home Energy Renovation Opportunity (HERO) Financing provides an opportunity to fund solar through property taxes: No money out of pocket, no credit score requirement.

The local government sponsored PACE program, also known as HERO Financing is repaid annually through a tax assessment and the interest is tax deductible.  This allows homeowners to tie their solar investment to property taxes rather than taking a personal loan, and the investment stays with the property when a homeowner moves. Annual payments are much lower than your current electric bill, and you will secure a lower electricity rate for the lifetime of the system. The cities of Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Solana Beach and Lemon Grove have opted into the PACE program.
