Lifeguards Rescue Reportedly Drunk Pier Jumper in Oceanside

Members of the Oceanside Fire Department along with Lifeguards responded to the Oceanside Pier at 9:30 after a 911 call prompted a rescue response of people stranded in the water.

Members of the Oceanside Fire Department along with Lifeguards responded to the Oceanside Pier at 9:30 p.m. Monday after a 911 call prompted a rescue response of people in the water.

Lifeguards jumped in to rescue a man and woman who were both in the water when units arrived on scene.

According to information overheard on a police scanner, a lady jumped in after she spotted a drunk man in the water. Fortunately, lifeguards were able to respond in a timely manner and pull everyone to shore just minutes after the operation began.
