A 19-year-old and a teenager were in custody Thursday night for allegedly setting at least two small fires that burned vegetation in Kit Carson Park and other areas of southern Escondido.

A witness who spotted the pair of suspects as they allegedly set a fire in the vicinity of South Escondido Boulevard called police about 6:30 p.m. and extinguished the fire, Escondido police Lt. Neal Griffin said.

Around an hour later, another person called police from near Westfield North County Mall and said he was chasing two suspects he saw trying to start a fire in Kit Carson Park near Interstate 15 and Bear Valley Parkway, according to Griffin.

The two suspects had similar descriptions to those from the first fire.

Police officers caught up to two males who fit the description near the mall and took them into custody. Isaiah Silva, 19, and an Escondido teenager, whose name was not released because of his age, were arrested on suspicion of arson-related crimes, Griffin said.

so put then in jail for two years for each one that they started and have them pay for each fire , they can pay so much a month til it is paid for .bring them to the fires so they can see the mess they made . make they help clean up the mess . so if they have no job , they pay up as soon as they get jobs .
