8 Undocumented Aliens Arrested After Boat Lands at Ponto Beach

Eight suspected undocumented aliens who came ashore in a panga early Sunday were arrested by the Border Patrol.

The panga came ashore at 7:05 a.m. at La Costa Avenue and Highway 101, one-quarter mile east of the jetty in the Ponto Beach area south of South Carlsbad State Beach, said San Diego Border Patrol spokesman Scott Simon.

“Someone observed it and reported suspicious activity to the Border Patrol and agents responded,” Simon said.

Simon said the suspected illegal aliens were transported to a local Border Patrol station for processing and further investigation.
