Accidental Gunshot Injures Off-Duty Deputy in Carlsbad

The deputy was getting into his car in a grocery store parking lot Saturday night when his gun went off.

An off-duty sheriff’s deputy is recovering from a gunshot wound he suffered Saturday night in Carlsbad when his gun accidently fired a shot as he got into his car, U-T San Diego reported.

The deputy was injured in the parking lot of Sprouts Farmers Market on Camino de los Coches around 6:40 p.m. His injuries are not considered life threatening.
