Ale Safe! Stone Brewing Returns to Normal Operation After Fire Evacuation

The local brewery returned to its facility on Friday morning.

Stone Brewing Co. in Escondido was one of nearly 76,000 businesses and homes ordered to evacuate from the fierce Cocos Fire, which first broke out in San Marcos on Wednesday and spread to Escondido on Thursday.

As of Friday morning, the North San Diego County fire was 5 percent contained and had burned through 3,018 acres.

The local brewery captured a time-lapse video from its packaging facility showing the smoke engulfing its facility on Citracado Parkway. The video was filmed from 10:17 a.m. to 12:43 p.m. on Thursday. They cut the video when they were evacuated. (See video above.)

Stone returned to normal brewing operation Friday morning, a spokeswoman said. There was no damage to the building or to the beer, she said.

Let's all Cheers the great work of fire, police, emergency personnel and volunteers.
