AM PM Arco Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

Carlsbad Police arrested 39-year-old Anthony Piscotta on suspiscion of robbing the AM PM on Palomar Airport Road at gunpoint on Nov. 7.

On November 7, 2012, at approximately 2:18 a.m.  Carlsbad Police officers were dispatched to the AM PM Arco at 1991 Palomar Airport Rd. after an employee reported being robbed after a man entered the store and pointed a gun to his head.

Several Officers and a K-9 checked the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him. 

On December 6, at approximately 3:20 a.m., Anthony Piscotta was arrested by Carlsbad Police patrol officers while in the commission of a burglary in the 5100 block of Paseo Del Norte, Carlsbad.  During Piscotta’s arrest, a loaded handgun was recovered as evidence.  Anthony Piscotta was booked into the Vista Detention Facility for several charges including attempted burglary.

Following this arrest, Piscotta was identified as a potential suspect in the robbery of the AM PM Arco gas station on November 7.  Further investigation determined the recovered handgun had been used during the robbery.

On December 14, Carlsbad Police detectives re-arrested Piscotta at the Vista Detention Facility who was already in custody due to his arrest the week prior.
