Authorities Ask for Help Finding Man Who Used Stolen Credit Cards in Carlsbad

Surveillance tape shows a man believed to have used credit cards stolen from a vehicle to make $6,000 in purchases.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers on Wednesday released public surveillance images of a man believed to have racked up about $6,000 in charges on credit cards stolen in Poway.

The two credit cards, which were stolen out of a vehicle in the 17000 block of Edina Court in Poway on July 9, were used the next day in stores in Carlsbad, Encinitas, San Marcos and Temecula, authorities said.

Surveillance images released by Crime Stoppers show a black man in his 30s or 40s, bald and heavy set.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
