Firefighters from at least five San Diego jurisdictions battled a brush fire on the Oceanside-Carlsbad border on Sunday morning, a fire dispatcher said.

The fire was on the eastbound Ronald Packard (78) Parkway east of El Camino Real on the border of Oceanside and Carlsbad, a dispatcher with the North County Dispatch Joint Powers Authority said. It was reported shortly before midnight.

Firefighters from Oceanside, Carlsbad, San Marcos, Vista and Cal Fire Monte Vista were on the scene, she said.

No structures were threatened, the dispatcher said.

ABC10 in San Diego reported the fire had grown to about four acres.

Oceanside Fire Department deserves a raise. Fires get put out fast around here, and OFD knows how to cooperate to get the job done. Kern and Felien want to fire our fire guys and outsource to strangers, which will stop all that infernal cooperation. Dump Kern and Felien. Keep our homes and businesses safe from fire. Vote for Chuck Lowery.

Above comment is awful….and I do not live in Oceanside. Median FAMILY Income in Oceanside is about $60,000. Median wage for Oceanside Firefighter, (one person), is about $120,000. Doesn't it seem like City salaries are already in the realm of 'absurdity?'
