Carlsbad AM/PM Robbed at Gunpoint

Patch's police scanner listener reported around 2 a.m. that the suspect had "an AR15 assault rifle."

A gunman robbed an am/pm gas station convenience store in Carlsbad early Friday but no one was hurt, police said. The armed robbery at 1991 Palomar Airport Road was reported just before 2:30 a.m., according to Carlsbad police. 

The gunman was described as Hispanic, about 30, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans. He wielded a "long'' gun and fled on foot, police said. 

Patch's police scanner listener reported around 2 a.m. that the suspect had "an AR15 assault rifle." He heard on the police radio, "the same suspect also robbed a 7/11 store in Del Mar several hours earlier."
