Carlsbad Father in Spain to Search for Missing Son, Austin Bice

SDSU student Austin Bice was last seen the night of Feb. 25 in Madrid.

Larry Bice of Carlsbad has arrived in Madrid, Spain, to help search for his son, Austin Taylor Bice. The 22-year-old was spending a semester studying international business at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and had been in the country since mid-January.

Austin Bice, who is reportedly fluent in Spanish, was last seen late last month. Spanish police said he was last seen at a fast-food restaurant but never made it back to the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, about 20 minutes away.
Concerned friends contacted authorities the next day. Bice is a SDSU student and graduated from Torrey Pines High School.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles and have been living in Spain for many years. My Spanish wife and I have also both worked with American students who come here in study abroad programs. I know the area where Austin was last seen quite well as I have always lived in this part of Madrid, I'm fluent in Spanish and I have extensive experience as a translator and interpreter as well. Although I cannot offer any new information related to Austin's disappearance, I feel that my experience and local knowledge may in some way be useful to his father in his search for his son. My name is John T. and my email address is icsinc@mac.com. I would be happy to help in any way that I can.
