Carlsbad Fire Department Investigates Hazardous Material Incident

The incident, which happened on Tyler Street, forced an evacuation.

Possible hazardous materials in a Tyler Street building forced an evacuation of nearby neighbors Wednesday, said authorities

The incident, which happened at 3305 Tyler Street around 3:09 p.m., involved a chemical reaction during a clean-up at a building that manufacted vitamins two years ago, according to Carlsbad Fire's division chief Chris Heiser.

The Hazardous Materials Team investigated the building though there wasn't a sign of a "big threat," said Heiser.
