Carlsbad Home Invasion Robbery Ends in Arrest

Carlsbad Police arrest a 29-year-old suspect on suspicion of robbery, burglary and kidnapping.

Sunday evening just past 6:30, received a 911 call reporting a home invasion robbery in progress at a residence located in the 2000 block of Avenue of the Trees. 

According to Carlsbad Police Sgt. Mickey Williams, the victims reported that two people barged into their residence with handguns. He told Patch "at least one victim was forced to move within the residence during the robbery. We do not know of any connection between the suspect and victims at this time."

No one was injured in the incident.

When patrol officers arrived minutes after the 911 call they saw a man running from the residence. The man was later found hiding in the laundry room of a nearby residence, police said.

Michael Dickson, 29, was taken into custody without incident. He was booked early Monday morning into the Vista Detention Facility on felony charges of first degree robbery, kidnapping with intent to commit robbery, first degree residential burglary, and conspiracy to commit a crime. Dickson is being held without bail.

The Carlsbad Police Department is continuing this investigation in an attempt to identify and arrest an alleged accomplice.
