Carlsbad Police Honor Citizen Volunteers
On May 3, at a "Wild West" themed event, the City of Carlsbad Police Department held its seventeenth annual volunteer recognition luncheon.
One hundred and thirty police volunteers ranging in age from 16 to 80 plus years provided services to the community of Carlsbad. The many services include patrolling the streets, assisting at special events and fingerprinting citizens.
“In 2011, our volunteers contributed over 23,106 hours of service “, noted Chief Gary Morrison. “This is equivalent to 11 full time employees.”
The Chief went on to thank and commend the volunteers for their service and dedication.
