Carlsbad Authorities Investigate Stabbing

A 19 and 20-year-old, both from Carlsbad, were taken into custody early Tuesday morning as suspects in an early morning non-fatal stabbing incident.

On Tuesday at 2:38 a.m., the city of Carlsbad Police Department received a call from Tri-City Hospital regarding a stabbing victim.  The victim told police officers the incident occurred in the area of Las Flores Drive and Pio Pico Drive in Carlsbad.

After interviewing the victim, investigating officers tracked and arrested 19-year-old Drew Davidson of Carlsbad at 3:21 a.m. in the 6500 block of Paseo Frontera in Carlsbad.

An additional suspect, 20-year-old Dylan Maldonado of Carlsbad was arrested at 7:45 a.m. in the 2300 block of Cipriano Lane in Carlsbad.

Both suspects were known to the victim.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was released from the hospital.

The reason for the stabbing is under investigation.

Davidson and Maldonado will be booked into the Vista Detention Facility.  The charges will be determined after further investigation.
