Carlsbad Police Provide Classes for Parents with Hard-to-Handle Children

The program called "Parent Project Jr." or "Loving Solutions," is for parents with children ages five to ten.

The City of Carlsbad Police Department will be sponsoring a training course for parents with hard-to-handle children ages five to ten.

The class is facilitated by the police department’s “GUIDE” program.  GUIDE is a unique prevention program that educates young people on self-esteem, positive decision-making, and the dangers of substance abuse and gang involvement.

“This parenting course is designed for parents facing the challenges of strong-willed and/or out of control children,” explains GUIDE Program Director Penny Velazquez.  “The Loving Solutions course has special solutions for the parents of children with Attention Deficit Disorders, and the curriculum addresses both current problems and the future challenges of raising children.”
