The following is a Letter to the Editor submitted by a Carlsbad resident of the Vista Pacifica community off Poinsettia:

Be on the lookout for a silver 4 door sedan (newer model Nissan Altima or similar) stealing packages left on front doors. There were 2 occupants in the vehicle - the passenger is a chubby female in her 20s with dark hair. Did not get a good look at the driver. They parked in our driveway, the female passenger casually got out and took a package full of christmas gifts at our front door, then looked in our mailbox on the street before getting back in the car and driving away. Notify Carlsbad police if you have any additional information (we did).  This is in the Vista Pacifica community off Poinsettia.

Tis the season for theft to increase. On Trieste & Chestnut a house was robbed in broad day light on 12-9-13, as well as 12-8-13 same street in the evening 4 cars were broken into. Off of Highland and Basswood a house under construction had tools & wiring stolen from it the evening of 12-7-13. So as neighbors let's not be afraid to ask questions & get license plate numbers to get these scumbags caught. If it doesn't look right it most likely isn't.

Small business owner with main office in Escondido sells the Armadillo Mailbox…..will actually deliver and install….fantastic product. Larger business known as "ADT" (and others) will provide home security. Spend the money, and get immediate peace of mind.
