Missing Carlsbad Teen Is Reunited with Parents, Police Say

A Facebook post was recently circulating about the young girl who was reported as a runaway.

Carlsbad Police released this statement to the media Friday afternoon:

"On January 11 juvenile Baileigh Karam was reported as a runaway to the Carlsbad Police Department. Today at approximately 10 a.m. Baileigh was located in Carlsbad and was reunited with her parents. Baileigh was healthy and told the investigators that she had been staying with friends."

Editor's Note - Orginally police told media she was missing since 2012, they meant 2013.

I always read the Patch just to make me laugh. Today is a great day for the Patch. The headline above indicates she was missing for a year! Interesting all other news sources say a week. Now look at the date in big bold numbers posted at the top of the missing flyer. Another good one there, Patch!

Hey, be nice! The police release had a typo, yes even police can make mistakes. We are all human. Everything was fixed fasted and we appreciated our amazing readers for letting us know it was a week not a year. Have a great weekend Patch Adams. Keep smiling!

Its refreshing to hear baileigh is home and safe. Unfortunately stories like this end in tragedy evrry day. There are life lessons to be learned here for everyone.Treat others as u want to be treated. Baileigh has nothing to be embarrassed about, the people who did not help baileigh should be ashamed of themselves

I'd say the recent events against which they were protesting are far more consequential than aRead More freeway traffic back-up. Just a guess.

How did they cause a backup, exactly? I'm asking because I saw them, and am wondering how theyRead More backed it up. If it's because people were slowing to read the signs, you can't really get mad at them for that.

I stopped using Internet Explorer years ago. Firefox is safer and the possibility of getting aRead More virus is much less. I have no issues with Firefox.

And if you use an IPAD early in the day as I do, the problem is that there is so much on each pageRead More that it is hard to scroll with your finger(s) because there is just so much clutter that you keep losing your story to an annoying ad.
