CHP: Person Jumps Off Interstate 5 Bridge in Oceanside

Authorities say the person landed in the fast lane causing them to shut down two lanes on southbound Interstate 5 for a few hours Thursday in Oceanside.

A person reportedly died after jumping off the Cassidy Street bridge over Interstate 5 around 1:14 p.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities say the person landed in the fast lane causing them to shut down two lanes on southbound Interstate 5 in Oceanside.

Traffic was backed up to Santa Margarita River as authorities investigated, but was clear by 3:57 p.m., according to CHP.
