Deceased Couple Prompt Suspicious Death Investigation

The Medical Examiner's Office says the deaths are now being investigated as apparent suicides.

The bodies of Harold and Kathryn Wigley, both 86, were found inside their residential trailer in the 7300 block of San Benito Street by their children about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the county Medical Examiner's Office.

Sgt. Mickey Williams with Carlsbad Police said the responding patrol officers felt the deaths were suspicious. The couple appeared to have been dead "less than a day or two,"  Williams said.

Detectives searched the residence for any evidence related to the deaths.
