Man Accused of Stabbing Another in North County Condo Fight Will Be Arraigned Today

A man accused of stabbing another man during a fight at a condominium complex near Calavera Lake in Oceanside is scheduled to be arraigned today.

Joseph Larry Flores, 20, was booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder following Monday's stabbing in the 3600 block of Spyglass Way, according to Oceanside police.

Officers called to the scene shortly before 5 p.m. Monday found Flores standing next to the 21-year-old victim, OPD Lt. George Darrah said. Paramedics took the injured man to a hospital for treatment of extensive wounds to his chest, abdomen and an arm.

A witness identified Flores as the man who had done the stabbing. The witness said the suspect fled following the attack but returned a short time later to ask her and the victim to name someone else as the assailant, according to Darrah.

The reason for the fight was unclear, though the suspect, victim and witness were all known to each other, the lieutenant said.
