Man Arrested After Carlsbad Pursuit

Dylan Jesse Brown was driving recklessly in the area of Canon Road and Avenida Encinas around 4:15 p.m. Sunday, according to Carlsbad police.

A 21-year-old San Clemente man was in custody Sunday on suspicion of driving under the influence and intentionally crashing into two police vehicles during a pursuit in Carlsbad.

Dylan Jesse Brown was driving recklessly in the area of Canon Road and Avenida Encinas around 4:15 p.m. Sunday, according to Carlsbad police. Officers caught up to Brown and attempted to pull him over on southbound Interstate 5 but he refused to comply, and a pursuit ensued, police said in a statement.

The chase ended in the 600 block of La Costa Avenue after Brown intentionally crashed into two police vehicles, police said. No injuries were reported.

Brown was arrested and booked into the Vista jail on suspicion of two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, felony vehicle evasion, driving under the influence and possession of drugs. He could be arraigned as early as Tuesday afternoon, according to online jail records.
