Updated: Man Killed at Kendal Floral Supply in Carlsbad
A 47-year-old man was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer at the loading dock of a floral distribution business in Carlsbad early Friday, authorities said.
The industrial accident at at 1960 Kellogg Ave. was reported shortly after midnight, according to . The man died at the scene, a Carlsbad fire dispatcher said. The large vehicle was backing up when it struck the man.
According to 10News, the victim has been identified by the medical examiner's office as Arturo Cuellar from Oceanside.
Investigators tell 10News that Cuellar was getting ready to help unload a tractor-trailer that had just arrived from Miami. After opening the rolling door to the loading dock area, he stepped out to the edge of the dock and the truck lurched backwards. The rear doors hit Cuellar in the head, knocking him to the ground, reported 10News.

Paramedics were unable to revive him.
