No Parole for Carlsbad Former Professional Skateboarder

Mark "Gator" Rogowski, now 44, was denied parole for the next seven years by the state Board of Parole Hearings.

Parole was denied Tuesday for a former professional skateboarder from Carlsbad convicted in 1992 of raping and murdering his ex-girlfriend's friend and dumping her body in the desert says the San Diego County district attorney.

Mark "Gator'' Rogowski was a nationally known skateboard personality who rose to prominence in the 1980s. Rogowski was sentenced 19 years ago for raping and murdering 22-year-old Jessica Bergsten.

Rogowski called Bergsten's death misplaced revenge against his ex-girlfriend Brandi McClain. He claimed McClain broke his heart and that Bergsten was from the same mold, reports local station KGTV.
