Oceanside Bicyclist Struck on Carlsbad Boulevard

Sean Mortimer was transported to a nearby hospital after being struck by a truck on Wednesday.

An Oceanside man was struck Wednesday afternoon while riding his bicycle on Carlsbad Boulevard.

Sean Mortimer, 41, was struck around 1:30 p.m. by a Chevrolet pick-up truck being driven by Camp Pendleton resident Joshua Leary, according to Carlsbad Police. The accident happened on Carlsbad Boulevard near the intersection of Hemlock Avenue.

Mortimer was transported to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla where he is being treated for injuries sustained during the collision.
