Oceanside Lifeguards Rescue Boat in Carlsbad

Six people were inside the boat that lost power near the Carlsbad Power Plant.

Oceanside and state lifeguards rescued a boat with six people at around 3 p.m. Sunday.

The boat lost power near the Carlsbad Power Plant and drifted ashore even though an anchor was thrown out, according to Oceanside police officer Brian Sundberg.

Lifeguards and the Oceanside Police Department responded to the call and pulled the boat and its crew to safety. The boat was undamaged and no injuries were reported, according to Sundberg.
