Officer Involved in Car Crash Near Pacific Ridge School

A Carlsbad police officer was involved in a traffic collision with a Carlsbad resident at El Fuerte Street and Greenhaven Drive adjacent to the driveway at approximately 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The officer was responding Code 3, with emergency lights and siren, in a marked police patrol car to a separate traffic collision on Avenida Encinas that involved a vehicle and a pedestrian. The officer’s patrol car collided with a Nissan driven by a 47-year-old Carlsbad woman.

Vista Fire Department transported both the female police officer and the woman by ground to Scripps Hospital La Jolla for examination.  Both women were treated for minor injuries. The Oceanside office of the California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
