Police Make Arrest in Residential Robbery and Discover Marijuana Plants

Carlsbad Police make a second arrest in a home invasion robbery and discover related evidence and marijuana plants.

arrested a 33-year-old man on charges of first-degree robbery, kidnapping with intent to commit robbery, residential burglary, possession of a deadly weapon, stolen property and other charges in connection with a home invasion on .

Julian Johnson was arrested and charged in connection with the robbery. During that robbery in January, police arrested a 29-year-old man who police say tried to run from the scene and hide in the laundry room of a nearby residence. Michael Dickson was taken into custody at that time without incident. 

On Monday, Carlsbad Police detectives searched a residence on the 3100 block of Noreen Way, Oceanside. During that search, detectives located evidence related to the January residential robbery. Detectives also discovered marijuana plants, marijuana possessed for sales, and controlled substances possessed for sale.

On Wednesday, detectives negotiated the surrender of Johnson at the Carlsbad Police Station. In addition to the residential robbery charges, and possession of a deadly weapon, Johnson was booked on drug charges including the cultivation of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance for sale. Johnson was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.

The Carlsbad Police Department is continuing the investigation in an attempt to identify and arrest any outstanding suspect or suspects.
